Found here.
When I woke up this morning, I thought, "I wonder if there's such a thing as designer donuts?"
Well, I didn't find any. I did find some seriously hip chocolates, though.
Look at that. Don't you just wanna steal that and turn it in for your final project in Graphic Design 101?
And they must be hip. For a stylish $65, you can buy yourself a 48-piece set. Plunk down a mere $350 and this gift set, complete with handbag, is yours (or hers):
Check them out at the Chocolate Bar here. I've never tried their goods, so I don't know if it's worth the price. I may have to splurge and order a smaller box just to see. Retro Bar, anyone?
Looking for budget-friendly chocolate pretties? Try Target's Choxie. I'm sure choco buffs would sneer, but I kinda like the stuff. That may just be the package designer within me that never quite went away.
I'm not sure I have the guts (or the budget - you're looking at around $75-80 each) to wear much of Locher's fare in public, but I may have to work on that.
Check out the details on this baby:
If I lived in the Bay Area and had some extra lunch money, I'd probably see about procuring this for myself. I'd find a reason to justify it. Somehow.
More about the above and other deco goodies here.
I found a recipe for hot spicy chocolate that's really something. I'm not a chocoholic by any definition, but this? Seriously good stuff.
As pictured above, I added an extra pinch of cayenne (you read that right) and cinnamon to mine because I like my spices best when in need of a fire extinguisher, but the base recipe's fine as is. And you can get that recipe here.
I'm a graphic designer and a girly-girl in denial. My weakness? The color brown. Wait, it gets worse. Brown with pastels.
And that's primarily what this blog is about. It's my appreciation - as a designer and as a chick - for all things brown. Brown and pink. Brown and powder blue. Brown and brown. Whatever. If it's brown, it's here. With exceptions, of course, because I'm a lady. (Oh, come on. Like you weren't thinking it, too. Well, anyway, you're thinking it now.)
Have you seen something eye-catching that would be suitable? Send it to me at brownjournal@crookedsixpence.com, and if I like it, I'll post it.
